Joe Lacob stated he expects each Klay Thompson and Steve Kerr to stay with the Golden State Warriors “for a very long time” throughout an interview with Tim Kawakami of The Athletic.
Thompson is about to be an unrestricted free agent subsequent offseason.
“We’ve had some very transient discussions at this level together with his agent. However they’re very, very early. … I absolutely anticipate that we’ll have some substantial discussions quickly someday and we’ll see if we are able to’t put one thing collectively that permits Klay to be right here for a very long time, which we clearly would love him to be,” Lacob instructed Kawakami.
Lacob additionally stated that he is had early discussions about extending Kerr, whose contract can also be set to run out after this season.
“Very early. There’s loads of time. Steve is rather like Klay, we would like Steve to be right here for a very long time,” stated Lacob.
Lacob added that it was his objective for the Warriors to get underneath the second apron by subsequent July.
