Just like the ITTF, the Liverpool and District Desk Tennis League (LDTTL) celebrates its centenary in 2026. We hope to organise a Centenary Match for that yr and if doable organise an exhibition within the Liverpool Museum.
Trevor Owen was the Fixture Secretary of the LDTTL for a few years and through that point he has maintained information of all of the tournaments since 1926 and likewise a document of all of the League Officers.
I’ve lately labored with Trevor in accumulating a duplicate of all of the League Handbooks and we’ve got a duplicate of each one besides 1977. We’re looking for it.
In 2001 the LDTTL was 75 years outdated and the League Secretary on the time, Tony Harris, revealed a league document known as Seventy 5 Not Out. This included many information in regards to the league growth together with information and pictures of worldwide gamers together with Zoltan Mechlovits (Hungary), world champion in 1927, and different worldwide gamers.
For 2026 we hope to replace this e-book and name it One Hundred Not Out. The LDTTL might be organising a small working group which organise the centenary celebrations.
